So it’s been a massively long time since I last updated this blog. A lot of things have happened since then. I have moved (again), and now have a lovely new flat in Sutton. Just above the high street.
It is a lovely neighbourhood, and my neighbours have been amazingly kind and helpful. I have not wanted for absolutely anything, and even when I ended up in hospital at the beginning of March 2014, they continued to show their kindness by helping and thinking of me at every turn.
I seem to be getting everything sorted. I’m now obviously 26, and I seem to have turned a corner, with my disability being less defining of my person than it has been in the past. I am happier in myself, and happier with everything that I am accomplishing in life.
On a separate note, I am doing loads of things that have moved my personal and work life forward, with more and more things happening in a more positive way. I am currently rebuilding several websites which I hope to be launching in the near future. One of which will be used to help me re-establish things which I have been severely lacking from my life.
Finally, I am happy to report that I now have a scooter, which I obtained around 3 months ago on a 24 month lease, to ensure that I can get out and about in the longer term without having to rely on anybody else pushing me. With everything else going on at the moment, and after taking the decision to return my motability car, which has been extremely useful over nearly 18 months in which it was used, I felt that I needed a way of getting around which encouraged my independence without leaving me in a position that I cannot get out and about on my own. A position I am absolutely determined to avoid after being abandoned in all but name by the local social services team.
I hope everyone has had a good Christmas, New Year, and are looking forward to their Easter break. This summer should prove to be a popular and interesting one, for everyone throughout all of the organisations I am fortunate enough to be involved in.
